Thermae Bath Spa

Thermae Spa bath - Credit: There is no better place to watch the sun set than in the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa. Here you can relax in the open-air rooftop pool and take in the beautiful views, while the sun goes down over the heritage city of Bath, bathing the historic buildings in golden sunlight.

A great place to while away the hours with friends, family or a loved one, Thermae offers the chance to bathe in the city’s natural thermal mineral-rich waters just as the Celts and Romans did nearly 2,000 years ago.

As well as the rooftop pool, there are four aroma steam rooms. Each glass pod is infused with a different aroma essence; choose from jasmine, lavender, frankincense or eucalyptus. Downstairs you can enjoy the flowing curves of the Minerva Bath while you bathe in the thermal waters and enjoy a massage under the waterjet or relax in the whirlpool.

The Springs restaurant offers a delicious menu, with choices ranging from tasty cakes, pastries, paninis, and salads as well as locally sourced hot meals such as Somerset Pork with creamy mash, red cabbage, cider gravy and apple source. The restaurant also serves a choice of teas and coffees, wines, beers and lagers as well as fruit juices, cordials and smoothies.

Why not try one of Thermae’s many wonderful sounding treatments. With more than 50 treatments and packages to choose from there is something for everyone – from a traditional massage or facial to the exotic Thermae oriental Massage, or Tropical Oasis Wrap. Packages including treatments range from £65 to £175 and work out better value than buying each treatment separately.

The Twilight Package at Thermae Bath Spa offers three hours for the price of two, complimentary use of towel, robe and slippers, and a light supper all for £39 per person. The Twilight Package is available Sunday to Friday from 4pm with last entry at 6.30pm and last serving in the restaurant at 8.15pm.

Don’t miss the chance to sample some fabulous oriental treatments in April and May this year when Thermae holds its Malaysian Spa Festival. From April 22 to May 16 2010 Thermae Bath Spa is hosting the Spa Festival, in partnership with Spa Village in Malaysia.

Therapists from Spa Village will be providing traditional spa treatments at Thermae, including Malay and Balinese massages and a Classic Chinese facial.

A chef will accompany them from Malaysia to add a taste of the Orient to the menu at Thermae’s Springs Restaurant.

‘Thermae Bath Spa and Spa Village both honour the ancient spa traditions of their individual regions so we are delighted to hold our second Spa Festival here at Thermae.

‘We hope people who visit Thermae during the Festival will leave having enjoyed the touch, taste and sounds of Malaysia, as well as bathing in Bath’s natural thermal waters.’
